Cooking Mama on iPhone

Cooking Mama on iPhone

Overall pretty fun — true to both the Wii and DS versions. There are a few actions that I keep failing (Peel while hot!) because what I do on the screen just isn’t registering. I’m curious to find out if I take the screen protector off if I do better.

I haven’t got too far in the game yet, but I do know that one of the major complaints is that there aren’t enough recipes. I’m sure more will come in future updates.

One thing I miss is Mama’s voice when you complete a stage. She’s mute in the iPhone version.

Animal Crossing: City Folk gameplay

Just finishing up my chores for Nook. I had originally recorded more, but the computer hosed up and I lost most of the video. Which is fine — it would have been boring anyway.

Animal Crossing: City Folk is here!

Yes, finally, the new Animal Crossing game is here! I ran out to Best Buy this morning and picked it up. I got the bundle with the Wii Speak , so everyone can hear me belch while visiting my town. I got the game guide as well, so I can mark off the items in my catalog.

RUU_0002

I decided to start today as Day 1, instead of setting the date back to November 1st. I probably wouldn’t time travel at all, and I thought it would be confusing keepting track of special events. I also didn’t move my DS character over. I thought it would be more fun starting completely fresh.

If you also have this game, make sure to add me to your roster (and leave your friend code in the comments so I can add you back). I am Elvira in Wauktown, and the code is 0989-5223-0374.

Guitar Hero: On Tour

Good god, I want to stab myself with my fork after watching just a few minutes of this “instructional” video…

How Guitar Hero Works on the DS

I admit, I bought the game. I’m a big fan of the first three Guitar Hero games on the PS2 and the 360 and I thought it would be fun to have a portable version of the game. I also justified it by deciding not to upgrade my iPhone next month, so that’s a few hundred dollars I can spend on other stuff saved. Besides, I have a SuperCard/SuperKey so I haven’t bought a DS game in … years, I think.

The graphics are much to be desired, but I’m spoiled by the HD-goodness of the 360. Gameplay is fun enough and you get used to “strumming” on the touchpad fairly quickly. Hand cramps are a definite side effect given the small size of the buttons and how you have to hold the controller. Though I have little dainty fingers so they’re more my size vs. the huge guitar controller for the 360. If you have larger hands, you’ll find the game kind of hard to play.

Worth it to keep me busy on my lunch break (and extended trips to the bathroom).
