Guitar Hero: On Tour

Good god, I want to stab myself with my fork after watching just a few minutes of this “instructional” video…

How Guitar Hero Works on the DS

I admit, I bought the game. I’m a big fan of the first three Guitar Hero games on the PS2 and the 360 and I thought it would be fun to have a portable version of the game. I also justified it by deciding not to upgrade my iPhone next month, so that’s a few hundred dollars I can spend on other stuff saved. Besides, I have a SuperCard/SuperKey so I haven’t bought a DS game in … years, I think.

The graphics are much to be desired, but I’m spoiled by the HD-goodness of the 360. Gameplay is fun enough and you get used to “strumming” on the touchpad fairly quickly. Hand cramps are a definite side effect given the small size of the buttons and how you have to hold the controller. Though I have little dainty fingers so they’re more my size vs. the huge guitar controller for the 360. If you have larger hands, you’ll find the game kind of hard to play.

Worth it to keep me busy on my lunch break (and extended trips to the bathroom).

DIY week

DSCN1456

I took the lens off of one of my Holga cameras and put it on my Nikon D70 dSLR. You can see a few test shots here.

Then I took the lens off of one of my Argus C3 cameras and put it on the lensless Holga body. We have to wait to see the results from that camera, since I need to shoot the whole roll and develop it.

I also made a case for my Nintendo DS games, out of a mint tin…

DIY DS game case

It currently holds eight games, but I can recut some foam at a later date so that it can hold up to twelve games.
