A few weeks ago Justin and I went to Kuma’s Corner for a late lunch. You may have heard about the place by its unofficial name — the “heavy metal restaurant.” All the burgers on the menu share their name with a band, and the music blaring over the speakers is not what you’d hear in most places. When we went we heard anything from Clutch to Mastodon to Slayer.
The place is small, and the wait for a table seems to be about 30-60 minutes no matter what time of day you go (we went around 4pm on a Saturday; Justin was there at 8-something on a Thursday night previously). It’s definitely worth the wait though, so stick it out.
I had the Melvins — this consists of fresh basil, prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato, and onion on top of a burger. All the burgers are served on a pretzel roll. I had mine with the chicken instead of beef (and you can also get a veggie burger in place of meat).
Let’s just say that I don’t eat a lot of food when I dine, so it’s very rare for me to polish off a full “burger.” But I ate the hell out of this one.
