AeroGarden – Day 4
One of the gifts that I received this holiday is an AeroGarden. I had seen them on display at Target and had been interested, but never looking into one.
So I got one for Christmas and set it up later at night on the 25th. Set-up is simple… put the thing together, fill it with water, put in a few nutrient tablets and pop the seed pods in place. While the seeds are germinating you put clear domes on them, which will come off once they start sprouting.
I placed it on top of the fridge. We have limited counter space, and this will ensure that the cats don’t mess with the plants.
This afternoon marks the 42 hour mark — not quite four full days — and there has been a bit of progress. The basil is coming along nicely, the chives have a few teeny-tiny sprouts and the thyme has a bit of green popping up. The dill, mint and oregano don’t have anything yet.
I also placed a few other houseplants up there to hopefully benefit from the grow light. My little strawberry plant is really getting along. I just hope I can save my vine plant; that’s the one that I got from Stacy and Rick’s wedding, and it still hasn’t recovered from being left outside too long this past summer. There are a few cuttings that look good, so my fingers are crossed.

Retro Band Flyers
Doing a bit of cleaning up around the house, and came across a folder filled with some old local band flyers from the early-to-mid 90s. The whole set can be found here, but I’m gonna post a few of my favorites below.
We used to get the flyers from the Gift Tree at Lakehurst, and because we were dorks we would color in a lot of them and hang them on our walls.
(man, I miss that mall.)
