• Shitty: Being the only person on duty for the majority of the day.
• Shittier: Spilling a full water bottle all over my desk and paperwork at the height of teh busy.
• Shittiest: Going home and having to cancel my credit card due to fraudulent activity.

Now I get to sleep off a migraine.

A week or so ago I attempted to make this paper camera. I say attempted, because it was pretty much a failure. I did manage to salvage the innards, so with a lot of gaffer’s tape I still had a functional camera. I would take a photo and show you what it looks like, but I had to tear it apart to get the film out.

I used a partial roll of film left over that I didn’t shoot on World Toy Camera Day, so I only took six photos. Two of the photos turned out well enough to scan.

This makes me want to dig out my matchbox pinhole and go shooting. I love the results from that camera.

No more car payments!

This past Saturday — October 18, 2008 — was World Toy Camera Day. This is the fifth year that I’ve participated in this “holiday.” Of course, being October and close to Halloween, most of my subject matter is Halloween related.

This year was no exception. We went to Six Flags briefly so I could take some photos. I got a couple of Holgaroid shots, and a roll from the Holga 135BC. I need to pick the best photo from the day to submit to the official group… can you let me know which you like best? I’ll post my favorites here, but all of them are viewable here.

And for the one non-creepy photo of the day…

Dead things I saw today:

1. A dead school bus — okay, maybe not a true “death” because it wasn’t truly alive but there was a puddle of antifreeze under it and it was being loaded on a tow truck, so I count it as a death.
2. A dead … something. Based on the amount of blood and guts splattered all over the road I’m guessing it was a deer. Or an elephant. Seriously. Not much grosses me out but when the street literally runs red with blood … ew.
3. An identifiable dead deer. Not much blood, though I also saw a bunch of glass and bits of car. There was no car was in sight though. That’s some good jerky someone left behind.

I am, of course, not counting the bazillion dead squirrels strewn all over the roads.
