JstreetRADIO

Mark - Twenty Four Frames

Okay, if you haven’t done so already, go subscribe to the JstreetRADIO podcast. It’s a podcast of the JstreetRADIO show that broadcasts every Thursday night on 98.3FM, located out of Lake County, IL. There’s usually an interview with a local band or some other people of interest in the area, and of course some music from local bands.

Why do I keep mentioning this? Well, first of all Jesse is a friend, so of course I’d mention it. Second — well, I’d hesitate to say that I’m part of the “scene” because I hate that phrase — but I’m frequently in contact with various area bands (even consider some of ‘em friends), but duh … I take band photos and have taken photos of many of the bands that are played on the show. Third … well, I put together the latest podcast for Jesse.

Nighttime long-exposure shot of downtown Waukegan.
Nothing much going on. I’ve been pretty busy at work — training the past few weeks — among other things.
Oh, go subscribe to the JstreetRADIO podcast. It’s pretty cool, and features local, regional, and national independent and underground music, and also interviews with various people of interest.

120 Challenge

There’s this group on Flickr — 120 Challenge — that I’ve started participating in.

You pick one camera that takes 120 film to use; if the camera has interchangable lenses you need to pick one lens to use.

Then you shoot a roll of 120 film, and try to tell a story. The challenge is that you pick a time to start shooting — and once you take your first shot you only have 120 minutes. No time-outs or cheating.

Today is the day for the February challenge. It’s pretty fun.

Mobile Cooking

The other day I found a website that explains how to cook an egg using two mobile phones [link]. Of course I had to try it.
