Scenes from the fair
Sorry. I was carrying around my D70 to take photos and I didn’t want to add to the weight and carry around my camcorder also, so the videos were taken with my cheapie digicam.

Hm. Somehow I turned off the game sounds, so the videos I recorded are silent (duh, I added some music). Remind me to change that next time I play.
More tidbits from Sunday’s picnic. Me and Lidia walk out to the parking lot and mainly talk about Jeeps and Jeep-related things. Then go for a short, technically off-road (but not very exciting) ride.
Every year our friend Jesse reserves a site at the forest preserve and he has a picnic. It’s pretty much an all-day thing, and lot of people show up.
I had my video camera out for a bit; as you’ll see from this video the main source of entertainment made it somewhat unsafe to have it out for long.
I used my cheapie digital camera for this; for some reason it’s starting to have some audio/video sync problems. I tried to fix it as best I can, but it’s still crappy.

So yesterday it rained, which you saw in this post. I didn’t have the camera pointed out the window during the worst of it, but it did get pretty bad there for a bit.
Turns out that the storm was even worse just a few miles down the road. Trees were ripped out of the ground and some houses and buildings were destroyed by what is called a “gustnado.”
What is a gustnado?
“A possible gustnado caused considerable damage in portions of Lake County Illinois early Wednesday afternoon near the town of Wildwood as a line of severe thunderstorms raced through the area.”
Storms Didn’t Dent Summer Drought
“Chainsaws are buzzing after freak winds blew down tree after tree like dominoes, damaging homes and knocking down power lines in a far north suburb.”
[edit]: Here’s a really short clip of the worst of the storm. It’s really crappy.
I just noticed today … if you watch my vlog via mefeedia there are some discrepancies with the two feeds that are listed. If you view my “offical” feed (this one), the last (and only) video that shows up is from April. I have no idea why, since my Feedburner feed is up-to-date and works fine everywhere else.
If you view my unofficial feed (this one) through Mefeedia you will get all my movies. Which is weird, since the actualy feed no longer exists and just automagically forwards to the Feedburner feed.
I’ve noticed a few other situations like this with other vlogs; it seems to have started once Mefeedia changed their layout/format.
