This is the video/photo/text blog of a thirty-something geek, photo hobbiest, wanna-be web designer, low maintenance, foul mouthed, just-one-of-the-guys type of girl.

I take photos, collect cameras, torment my cats, play video games and watch way too many food and science shows on TV.

I took shop in high school. I have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. My favorite color is pink.

Site History

I first started blogging sometime in early 2001 on first my AOL page, then “upgraded” to a Geocities page. After a few months there, I registered the domain kellybelly.net (in May of 2001) through Yahoo. I’ve been here ever since.

When I started blogging here I was hard-coding my pages. Then I heard about Movable Type, and because Yahoo hosting (at the time) didn’t allow you to install anything like that, I moved to TotalChoice Hosting in December of 2001. I’ve been with them ever since.

For a long time I used kellybelly.net as a photoblog (doing most of my written blogging over on Livejournal because I can keep track of the people that are reading it), but in early 2005 (March 11th, to be exact) I started videoblogging.

I haven’t been posting many videos lately (or much of anything, really). I’m sorry about that; it’s just that real life has got in the way of my internet time. Plus, I no longer have a job where I can spend nearly eight hours straight online. :-/

Music for video intro is “Main Titles (Remix)” by the Black Robes and PodSafeAudio.com; animation by Halfempty-Halffull. The loop for older (pre-June 2006) video intro from Soapbox Studio.

Editing done on a PowerBook or an iMac, either with iMovie or Quicktime Pro. Video recorded using various cameras, but now mostly my Canon A540, Nikon Coolpix S1 or Panasonic PV-GS150.

All the images and photos on this website are copyrighted. In most cases they have been registered with the United States copyright office and are protected by federal law.

The fact that it is easy to copy/save/download photos and graphics has deluded people to believe that downloading copyrighted material from websites without permission is okay. It’s not.

You may download any photo or graphic to your personal computer for your own enjoyment, but you must not distribute it — in whole or in part — by any means whatsover, without express permission from the owner (that’s me). This includes, but is not limited to: printing, e-mailing, and posting/displaying on a website (which also includes using the images in whole or as a base for avatars and user icons).
